Students are about to show off their skills.
Alpha Kappa Alpha’s (AKA) Omicron Chi Omega (OCO) Chapter is hosting a Youth Talent Showcase, “A Change is Coming”.
Scheduled for February 27, the virtual event will feature speakers and performances by youth from Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.. Attendees will learn about the Harlem Renaissance and the arts, as well.
“The arts program and initiative focuses on exposing students to the richness of the Harlem Renaissance and the black arts movement, exposing them to all of the performing and the visual arts – dance, theater and everything you can imagine,” chapter President Anika Harris said.
Community members may view the Youth Talent Showcase live between 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on OCO’s YouTube Channel.
“So, we look forward to everyone just logging in and supporting the youth as well as supporting Omicron Chi Omega in all of our future events. So, we really hope to see everyone there.

“We are focused on service to all mankind, and that is anyway that we can service our community, whether it’s from a food drive to scholarships for the youth,” Harris explained. “We are about service.”
