Young Marines, the youth non-profit based in Dumfries, has named Jeremy Jones as their new Director of Operations.

The Young Marines provide programs that cater to mental, moral, and physical development of students ages eight to 18, focused on “teaching the values of leadership, teamwork and self-discipline, so its members can live and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle,” stated a release.
“Jones is responsible for assisting Col William P. Davis USMC (Ret) who is the national executive director and CEO of the Young Marines, and all deputy directors with implementation, review and monitoring key planning documents,” stated a release.
Jones will also help with organization planning, financial oversight of some programs, and handling special events.
“I am proud to have this opportunity. The Young Marines is a youth organization that’s top caliber and very professional. It’s all about teaching kids and instilling values,” stated Jones in a release.

Jones has been a volunteer with the Young Marines for eight years, first as a training officer, Camp Pendleton Young Marines; executive officer, California Regiment; training officer, Division Six; unit commander, Spokane County Young Marines; and assistant division commander for Division Six.
“Jeremy is an accomplished leader,” said National Executive Director Bill Davis. “He brings excellent management experience and combines this with the drive and enthusiasm of a Marine. We welcome him to the national headquarters team.”
Jones is a retired Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps.
