The Woodbridge Senior High School (WSHS) robotics team won big at the 2016 VEX World Robotics Championship.
The competition, which holds the Guinness world record for being the largest robotics event, was held in Kentucky last weekend, according to a release.
Out of more than 1,000 teams from all over the world ready to compete, WSHS’ robotics team won 5th place in the overall competition, stated a release.
This year’s championship required teams to create robots that could play a hoop game, where the robots needed to be able to collect balls and shoot baskets, according to a release.
Footage of the robotics championship will be airing on ESPN 2 on July 20, stated a release.
