A pit stop resulted in a Woodbridge resident winning the Virginia Lottery.
Ezelle Smith has won $100,000.
Smith, who works in Information Technology (IT), recently bought a Powerball ticket from the Harris Teeter that stands at 12745 Galveston Court in Manassas.
Four of the numbers he chose matched those in the October 2 drawing — 4-8-10-43-53. He also picked the winning Powerball number, which was 7.
Through the drawing, Smith won $50,000. Because he participated in Power Play, his winnings were doubled.
The drawings for Powerball occur on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m. Players have a 1 in 292.2 million chance of picking the six winning numbers. There is a 1 in 25 possibility that they will win a prize.
