Character, leaders, devotion to duty, and academic accomplishment. That is the criterion for the Harry F. Byrd Jr. Leadership Award for the 11th Congressional District – an award that Woodbridge High School senior Fatima Dyfan is up for.
Dyfan is one of three finalists for the leadership award.

Dyfan is class president at Woodbridge and has held numerous leadership roles in school, her community, and at the state level.
Dyfan serves as a member of the Virginia Student Council Association Advisory Committee. She has volunteered at a local nursing center for four years, tutors math students, and has presented at Division-level conferences. She is an accomplished actress, having held several lead roles in productions of the Woodbridge High School Theater Department. She won recognition by the Northern Virginia Theater Association and most recently was nominated for a Cappies award for Best Supporting Actress.
