Organizations and community members are supporting brain tumor and brain cancer research this week.
Silver Sparkles is running from Noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Held at Competitive Edge Athletic Performance Center in Woodbridge, the family fun event will feature a magic show, face painting, tennis, hockey and moon bounces.
Sponsorships are available for businesses, and family tickets may be purchased on eventbrite.
Proceeds from Silver Sparkles will benefit the Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University in North Carolina.
The center treated Event Founder and PwcMoms.com Owner Kristina Kotlus, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2013 and experienced a relapse two years ago.
“This cause is obviously near and dear to my heart, and I am so proud to be able to support others with money for more research, and hopefully, more cures,” Kotlus said in a release.
Almost $40,000 has been collected for brain tumor and cancer research through the annual program.
