Woodbridge-based business MAG Aerospace was the recipient of the 2016 Commonwealth of Virginia Governor’s Award of Excellence in International Trade.
According to a release from the Prince William County Department of Economic Development, MAG Aerospace is recognized as a business leader in the arena of global aerial surveillance and situational awareness services.
Each year, the Governor gives this award to a Virginia business that has done well with global trade, and is an “enterprise receiving this annual award has increased its international sales, while promoting the best interests of its employees and the surrounding community,” stated a release.
“MAG Aerospace’s success story is a wonderful example of a company that has experienced the effects of sequestration and saw an opportunity to diversify. Virginia’s international trade programs provided the support the company needed to be successful globally. This kind of international success is exactly what will help build a new Virginia economy, and I commend the MAG Aerospace team for their hard work and achievement,” stated Governor Terry McAuliffe in a release.
According to a release, “MAG Aerospace takes on the world’s most difficult problems and pursues business from the military, U.N. and NATO, all while working in more remote and non-permissive areas across the globe.”
The Prince William County Department of Economic Development expressed excitement over MAG Aerospace’s achievements.
“We congratulate MAG Aerospace on their tremendous year of accomplishments. It is truly exciting to watch a high-caliber company, like MAG Aerospace, go from strength-to-strength right here in Prince William County. We are committed to supporting its future growth,” stated Prince William County Department of Economic Development Executive Director Jeff Kaczmarek in a release.
