Wintry mix expected during tomorrow’s evening commute

We could see a wintry mix tomorrow during the evening commute hours.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for tomorrow from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

It is expected that there will be a wintry mix with freezing rain and sleet, and that ice will cause slippery conditions on walkways and roadways.

“Even if air temperatures rise above freezing, the ground and other surfaces are still extremely cold due to the recent Arctic blast. This increases the likelihood of a glaze of ice on surfaces,” stated NWS.

With the expected conditions, NWS has cautioned people that expect to be driving during that timeframe, and to assess all options for telecommute and public transit.
