Northern Virginia residents could be seeing some winter weather this weekend.
Snow, sleet and freezing rain are forecasted for Saturday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Up to one inch of snow and sleet and up to one-tenth of ice is expected between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
It’s expected to start with snow before becoming sleet, freezing rain and rain.
The NWS reminds the public to be careful when traveling and stepping outside.
Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crew members have pre-treated some areas.
Drivers are encouraged by VDOT to check the weather and wait to travel if the roads become dangerous.
They should also look out for slippery areas and distance themselves from other vehicles.
