This year was a busy one for the What’s Up Prince William team.
In 2019, we continued to support local organizations through media services.
This amounted to more than $86,000 of in-kind services, including over $20,000 in support to the Prince William Chamber of Commerce.
We also offered more than $66,000 of in-kind services to 20 non-profits in 2019.
The Prince William County / Manassas Boys & Girls Clubs, Action in Community Through Service (ACTS), the Prince William Humane Society (PWHS), The Arc of Greater Prince William, and Project Mend-A-House (PMAH) are among the non-profits What’s Up Prince William supports.
What’s Up Prince William is funded by two automotive repair shops — Steve’s Auto Repair & Tire and HomeTowne Auto Repair & Tire — in Woodbridge.
The shop owners decided to build and fund the news site after realizing that non-profits didn’t have a consistent way to share information about their organizations without paying for it.
“We provide free coverage and event promotion for local non-profits,” Editor Erin Flynn said. “It is our mission to serve organizations that are helping members of the community.”
