Action in Community Through Service (ACTS) is getting $56, 028 to help stock their food pantry, thanks to a donation from Wegmans, an area grocery store chain.
ACTS is an organization in Prince William County that provides food, housing, counseling and other types of assistance to people in need in the county.
According to the ACTS Facebook page, the Woodbridge Wegmans has been conducting their ‘Annual Check Out Hunger Campaign’ for the past several months, and was able to raise the funds through customer’s donations.
Wegmans does the campaign in all of it’s stores, and donates the proceeds to area food pantries and non-profits.
ACTS received the check from Wegmans, and will be able to use it for stocking their food pantry, according to the ACTS Facebook page.
“On behalf of everyone who will benefit through our Food Pantry, a heart-felt thank you to Wegmans’ staff and the generous customers who support us every year,” stated the ACTS Facebook page.
