A new space is available for engaged couples and event organizers.
Sweeney Barn has opened at 9310 Discovery Boulevard in Manassas.
Staff members held a ribbon cutting ceremony at the site on Tuesday morning.
Noel Sweeney came across the five-acre property when Prince William County was selling it a couple of years ago.
Constructed in 1939, the building was used to feed and milk cows.
Project leaders began converting it into a wedding and event venue in March.
The lower level is designed for wedding ceremony and cocktail hours. Guests may use the second floor for banquets.

“We renovated the barn, because we love history. Personally, I like older buildings. It’s just in my nature – I’m from Ireland – and I just love keeping the historic nature of the property,” Sweeney said. “So, we wanted to do something where people would enjoy it for years, and years, and years to come.”
Sweeney Barn is hosting an Open House from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on February 23.
