We had a chance to catch up with Gabrielle Webster, the new CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington.
Webster joined the organization two months ago in her new role.
“I’m pleased to be in this role, it’s only been about two months now, but it has been a fabulous two months, getting to really know this organization,” said Webster.
There are 12 clubs in the Northern Virginia, Washington D.C. area, with three locations in Prince William County.
“We’ve very, very proud of the clubs that we have here locally [in Prince William]. It’s a special organization because it’s one where we have daycare and that is something that’s very different from other clubs that we have,” said Webster.
One thing Webster highlighted were the clubs’ summer camps, which run through August 25, and their year-round programs.
“Besides the sports, which we are known for, there’s also a lot of mentoring, educational opportunities, and STEM,” said Webster.
Webster spoke about the key role that volunteers play in the Boys & Girls Clubs.
“Our volunteers work with us and for us – be it on our Board of Directors, on committees, or volunteer in the clubs with our youth,” said Webster.
