BEACON has had record-breaking enrollment this spring.
In a release, BEACON Program Manager Jennifer Katac reports, “We have seen an increase in demand for classes as more immigrants settle into the Prince William and surrounding areas. Those who settle here are eager to learn English, look for jobs, and assimilate into their new communities.”
Since winter 2021, BEACON has had 244 students sign up for their online and in-person classes. Their 2022 class will run from March 21 to June 9. This significant growth has been a 30.5 percent increase in student enrollment.
There are multiple locations, such as Manassas Presbyterian Church, 8201 Ashton Avenue in Bull Run, Bethel Lutheran Church, 8712 Plantation Lane in Manassas, and Manassas Park Community Center, 99 Adams Street.
