Prince William County Police Department and the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue need volunteers for reforestation in Woodbridge on April 8.
According to a release, volunteers are needed from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to help reforest some of the cleared areas that were done to build the Central District Police Station and Fire & Rescue Station #26.

The Projects: The Central District Police Station will be a 54,200 square-foot facility located at 5036 Davis Ford Road, Woodbridge VA 22192. The station will provide police services to the mid-county area, primarily Dale City, Lake Ridge, and the Davis Ford Road corridor. Personnel from the Patrol Service Bureau, Criminal Investigations, and the office of the Chief will be located in the facility. The facility is currently scheduled to be fully operational by fall of 2017.
The PWC Fire and Rescue Station #26 will be a 18,000 square-foot facility located at 5026 Davis Ford Road, Woodbridge VA 22192. The station will provide fire and ambulance services to the mid-county area, primarily Dale City, Lake Ridge, and the Davis Ford Road corridor. The career-staffed station will house a pumper unit and advanced life support ambulance. The facility is currently scheduled to be fully operational by summer of 2017.
Volunteers are being asked to bring “garden tools like garden spade, garden fork, hand trowel, shovel, or pick-axe; work gloves; insect repellant; drinking water; snack; sunscreen,” and to “wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and sturdy shoes (nothing open toed or flimsy). Additionally, please dress according to the weather. Trees and mulch will be provided. Children under the age of eighteen (18) should be accompanied by an adult at all times,” stated a release.
