VFW Post 7916 is hosting a Wounded Veterans Horse Parade in Occoquan on May 6.
According to a release, the parade will take place along Mill Street and will begin at River Mill Park, moving toward the Route 123 bridge parking lot.
“As a result of the parade, there will be road closures along Mill Street from 8 am to 10 am; vehicular traffic will not be permitted during this time,” stated a release.
Following the parade, the VFW will be hosting a Kentucky Derby Party at 2 p.m. at their post with a raffle, all you can eat buffet, drink specials, and a performance from the band Carter Farm, according to a release.
