Teens and young adults living in the Gainesville area will soon have a new hang-out spot.
Club Eclipse, a club tailored to 15 to 20-year olds, is opening its doors on July 28-29 in a 7,000 square foot space at 5615 Wellington Road.
“The purpose of this is to give a fun, safe place for kids to have fun,” said Club Eclipse co-owner Jason Flis.
Following the club’s grand opening, there will be four “open houses” – July 23 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., and July 24 to 26 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., according to Flis.
The inspiration for opening the club came after Flis’ daughter visited an under-21 club in Ocean City, Maryland.
“I just decided to do something here locally,” said Flis.
The club will offer an in-house restaurant, several 65-inch TV screens, seating for 220 people, and a gaming center that will house XBOX and PlayStation systems. Visitors will also find glow-in-the-dark concrete counter tops, unique lighting and a large dance floor.
“It’s just very upscale. It’s more upscale than anything around here,” said Flis.
IDs must be presented when entering Club Eclipse, and those 17 years old and younger must register in advance. Entry is $15 and re-entrance isn’t allowed.
The club also has rules and a dress code you’ll have to follow, and the option to rent out the space for private events.
