Two lanes on I-95 southbound are closed in Stafford this morning, following an accident.
According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), the two lanes are closed at mile marker 147, just south of Exit 148, due to a crash involving a tractor trailer and a truck.
The lanes have been closed to “allow crews to remove a tractor-trailer, truck and spilled diesel fuel from an earlier crash,” stated VDOT.
Congestion leading up to the crash site is backed up for two miles, and drivers are being detoured onto Route 1, where they can get back on I-95 at Garrisonville Road, stated VDOT.
Drivers traveling south this morning should expect significant delays.
