The Tuskegee Airmen and the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) are being remembered.
From August 22 to August 27, the CAF RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit will be set up at the Manassas Regional Airport, 10600 Harry J Parrish Boulevard.
Sentara Health is supporting the display, which is free to visit, according to a release from Sentara.
The traveling exhibit includes a restored P-51C Mustang as well as a mobile theater that’s located in a 53-foot semi-trailer.
“This inspiring exhibit shares the story of some of our nation’s bravest men and women and teaches us all about the importance of dedication, bravery, and the power of the human spirit to rise above diversity,” Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center President Jeff Joyner said in a release. “Sentara Health is proud to be among the event sponsors bringing this exhibit to Prince William County.”
Previously called the CAF Red Tail Squadron, the CAF RISE ABOVE Squadron seeks to educate the public about the Tuskegee Airmen and WASP.
Community members interested in checking out the exhibit are encouraged to make a reservation.
