Christmas is still many weeks away, but some organizations are getting an early start to the season.
Local groups are serving as Toys for Tots drop off locations.
Through the annual program, the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation collects new, unwrapped gifts for children who are in need.
Organized by the United States Marine Corps Reserve, it will take place through December 12.
Used toys and clothes won’t be accepted, according to a release from the Prince William County Department of Fire & Rescue.

Community members may drop off donations at the following sites:
- American Legion Post 364, 3640 Friendly Post Lane in Woodbridge
- Will start accepting toys at 3 p.m. on November 5
- Dale City Moose Lodge, 15424 Cardinal Drive in Montclair
- Toys will be collected until December 9
- Monetary donations are being accepted
- Prince William fire and rescue system
- Donations can be dropped off at any fire station in Prince William County, Manassas or Manassas Park, the Prince William County Public Safety Training Center in Nokesville, or the lobby of the McCoart Building in Woodbridge.
