Expert and amateur architects and sugar enthusiasts have a chance to put their skills to the test.
The Town of Occoquan is hosting its first annual Occoquan Community Peep Contest.
Contest participants could win $25 by building a diorama using Peeps.
Those interested in participating should sign up at Town Hall or email jlittle@occoquanva.gov by March 23. Dioramas and entry forms must be dropped off at Town Hall between March 26 and March 29.
The contest offers three categories participants can enter into: Individual, Family/Team, and Kids 12 and under.
Each category winner will receive $25 they can spend on any Occoquan business.
A team of judges will look over the models on March 30 and the winners will be announced at 10 a.m. the next day.
Dioramas will be display at Town Hall between March 30 and April 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
To learn more information about the contest and receive the entry form, visit Town Hall or visit the town’s website.
The contest is being run in conjunction with the Occoquan Merchants Guild’s 5th annual Peep Show.
During the Peep Show, which will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 31, community members can vote on dioramas built by 20 Occoquan shops.
Free shuttle rides will be offered between 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The shuttle bus will pick up event attendees at the Route 123/Old Bridge parking lot bus stop.
