A bus crash that occurred in Arlington yesterday resulted in three individuals being injured.
The Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC) OmniRide bus got into the accident at 6 p.m., striking a vehicle on South 12th Street, according to a release.
The bus operator and two others were transported to a nearby hospital, and the bus was not carrying passengers at the time, stated a release.
“One pedestrian on the sidewalk and one person in the business appear to have non-life-threatening injuries. The operator also was injured; his condition remains unknown,” stated a release.
The bus was towed at the scene and impounded by Arlington County Policy, where Arlington authorities, PRTC, and First Transit will review the incident and determine what occurred and if the crash could have been prevented, according to a release.
“It’s unclear at this time if the vehicle struck by the bus was parked. After the collision, the bus ran onto the curb and struck the wall of a business on the first floor of the Lenox Club apartment building in Pentagon City,” stated a release.
