Teachers and principals are getting recognized.
This year, 44 teachers and seven principals were nominated for PWCS Teacher of the Year and PWCS Principal of the Year, according to a release from Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS).
The county school system will honor them and those who earned their National Board Certification during a virtual ceremony.
When choosing the Teacher of the Year, officials will consider how knowledgeable a teacher is about the subject, whether they can encourage students to learn, and their understanding of each student’s needs.
To be considered for Principal of the Year, nominees should show leadership, promote creativity, and connect with the class regularly.
Additional details about how to view the ceremony, which is scheduled for April 27, will be shared soon.
