Families have a chance to save money as they prepare for the upcoming year.
Tax Free Weekend is running from 12:01 a.m. on August 2 to 11:59 p.m. on August 4.
Consumers won’t need to pay sales tax on certain items, according to the Virginia Department of Taxation website.
The sale applies to school supplies that cost $20 or less each, as well as shoes and clothes that are no more than $100.
Consumers also aren’t required to pay sales tax on portable generators that are $1,000 or less and gas-powered chainsaws that are a maximum of $350.
They can also buy chainsaw accessories and hurricane preparedness products that cost $60 or less.
Energy Star or WaterSense items that cost no more than $2,500 may be purchased, as well.
