Non-profits and local governments are working together to combat hunger.
Each week, almost 5,000 people are being fed through the Community Feeding Task Force.
Action in Community Through Service (ACTS), the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park, Prince William County and the Prince William County Community Foundation make up the task force, which provides food to more than 40 charities and organizations.
More than 200,000 pounds of food was given out last month, according to a release from Prince William County.
The distribution sites include: ACTS, 17958 Dr David Cline Lane in Dumfries; Dar Alnoor Islamic Community Center, 5404 Hoadly Road in Manassas; Grace Life Community Church, 9560 Linton Hall Road in Bristow; House of Mercy (HOM), 8170 Flannery Court in Manassas; and Manassas Park Community Center, 99 Tremont Street in Manassas Park.

The task force is accepting various food donations.

- Cooking oil
- Dried beans
- Honey
- Jelly
- Oatmeal
- Pasta
- Peanut butter
- Rice
