Forest Park High School students will be hosting the 2nd Annual Suicide Awareness walk tomorrow in Woodbridge.
The walk will begin at 9 a.m. at Forest Park High School at 15721 Forest Park Drive, according to a release. Walk participants will be walking to Hylton High School and back, stated a release.
Students organized this year’s walk as part of a continued effort to educate the community and talk about suicide. According to recent statistics, a person in the United States dies by suicide every 13.7 minutes, and takes the lives of more than 38,000 people in the country each year.
Following the walk, there will be a rally with guest speakers to talk about the issue of suicide in the community.
