The stormy weather has caused several problems for area residents.
According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Route 1 in Stafford was closed in both directions at Acadia Street this morning due to flooding. Acadia Street is located between Garrisonville Road and the Quantico Marine Corps Base.
An alert from VDOT stated that as of 9:30 a.m. that Route 1 had reopened at Acadia Street, but several areas in Prince William are still flooded.
Area weather reports have stated that there is a flash flooding risk in the area, and that rain is expected to continue through Friday morning.
