A Dumfries fundraiser is supporting adoptable pets.
The Humane Society of Northern Virginia (HSNV) is gearing up for its second annual yard sale.
Scheduled for July 29, the Multi Vendor Yard Sale will run rain or shine from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Last year, it was set up in the field near the humane society, which sits at 17983 Dumfries Shopping Plaza. Due to lack of visibility, organizers are moving it to the parking lot next to the highway.
Vendors can purchase a 10 foot-by-10 foot spot for $40, and rescuers may reserve a space for $30. Groups and businesses that would like to participate must bring their own tables and canopies.
The proceeds will benefit HSNV.
“All of the money that we are going to … raise is going to go to funding our rescue, whether it’s going to be toward vaccinations, or purchasing of food and/or supplies,” Volunteer Christy Lynn explained. “So, this is really going to all go into direct support of us being able to … help continue to rescue abused, abandoned pets.”
Those interested in a 10-by-10 space at the Multi Vendor Yard Sale should reach out to Lynn at christylynn0269@aol.com or (571) 435-2779.
In addition to vendors, the pet friendly event will feature outdoor games for youth.
Powered by Advocates for Abused and Abandoned Pets (A3P), the humane society is passionate about saving the lives of pets. The non-profit is in need of donations, volunteers, fosters and sponsors.
“In order for us to continue to support and help rescue and place animals in forever homes, we really need the support of the community,” added Lynn, who also serves as A3P Board President.
