Snow is expected in parts of Northern Virginia and eastern West Virginia this afternoon and evening.
The National Weather Service (NWS) is calling for 1 to 3 inches of snow between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. It predicts heavier snowfall from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Roads, driveways and sidewalks could be slippery as a result of the winter weather.
NWS encourages members of the public to be cautious.
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has begun pre-treating some areas.
It’s advising drivers to watch the weather.
They should check road conditions before traveling and delay their commute if they become hazardous.
Manassas Park City Schools (MPCS), Manassas City Public Schools (MCPS), and Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) are closing two hours early.
Afternoon and evening activities have been cancelled.
There won’t be afternoon preschool for MCPS and PWCS.
