The Scrabble® Scramble isn’t just a game night—it’s an opportunity to celebrate the joy of learning and support a vital cause. With competitive Scrabble® play, exciting prizes, delicious food, a 50/50 draw, and a raffle featuring amazing items, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. No Scrabble experience is needed—we’ll teach you everything you need to know! You’ll work with your team to compete against other teams for first and second place, all while having fun together!
Why Scrabble®? BEACON’s choice of a Scrabble® event as its major fundraiser is no accident. This iconic board game challenges players to think critically, expand their vocabulary, and sharpen their memory—skills that mirror the experiences of BEACON’s students. Over the past year, BEACON’s dedicated team of 130 volunteer teachers has empowered more than 500 adult learners from over 50 countries to improve their English, prepare for U.S. citizenship exams, and enhance their job readiness skills. The organization provides accessible and affordable classes in Manassas, Manassas Park, and online.

Join us for this year’s Scrabble® Scramble on Saturday, April 25th, from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Linton Hall School Gym, located at 9535 Linton Hall Road, Bristow, VA, 20136. The evening will feature two thrilling rounds of competitive team play, along with enticing prizes, a 50/50 draw, and a raffle that includes local business gift cards and more. It’s a night of fun that promises to create lasting memories while making a difference.

We are also thrilled to announce that Mary Finnigan, who recently retired as Chief Operating Officer for the Benedictine Sisters of Virginia, will be joining us as a guest emcee for the evening, adding to the excitement and energy of the event!”
