Additional scholarship opportunities are being offered to Northern Virginia students.
High school seniors have a chance to receive scholarships from Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative (NOVEC) in Manassas and the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives (VMDAEC) in Glen Allen.
Students whose families are customers of electric cooperatives in Delaware, Maryland and Virginia may apply for the VMDAEC scholarship, which is due on February 8.
Scholarships amounting to $1,000 will be provided to those planning to attend a college, university or trade school this fall, according to a release.
The application and guidelines are available on the VMDAEC website.

NOVEC users may apply for a scholarship that’s due on March 13, as well.
Ten $1,500 scholarship will be presented to seniors who are going to attend college and have a 3.5 grade-point average (GPA). One recipient will also receive the $1,500 J. Manley Garber Scholarship.
Applicants must submit an online application, two recommendation letters, an essay, and Student Achievement Test (SAT) or ACT scores.
In addition, they should show leadership in activities, organizations or work.
