The Prince William Salvation Army has started their Red Kettle Campaign.
When running errands out in the community, you’ll likely see the iconic red kettle stands and the bell ringers at retailers like Walmart, Safeway and Giant.
According to Catie Murphy, Volunteer Coordinator for Salvation Army, the red kettles will be out until Christmas Eve.
Murphy stated that the Salvation Army needs more volunteers for the campaign.
“Volunteers are needed to ‘adopt’ a Kettle location for a day and share the ringing duties between friends, neighbors, co-workers, teams, or clubs. It only takes 4 people to cover a location for a day,” stated Murphy.
Those interested in helping this year can contact Murphy by email at email@example.com or by phone at 703-618-0511.
More on the Red Kettles program:
Funds raised in the Red Kettles are used year round for emergency food, utility, rent, and emergency relief to thousands of Prince William County families. Everything given in Prince William stays right here in our community. The Angel Trees at Potomac Mills and Manassas Mall need hosts to process donated items. Over 1,000 local kids are provided Christmas toys and clothes thanks to generous folks and countless volunteer hours given!
