An upcoming meeting is zeroing in on a community issue.
Supervisor Jeanine Lawson is hosting a Town Hall about the Rural Crescent Plan.
The meeting will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday. It’s being held in the auditorium of Stonewall Jackson High School, 8820 Rixlew Lane in Manassas.
Citizens will be able to ask questions and provide feedback.
Supervisors Pete Candland and Frank Principi plan to be in attendance.
In March 2018, the Board of County Supervisors (BOCS) asked county staff to make plans to include the 2014 Rural Preservation Study in the Comprehensive Plan Update, according to the county’s website.
Proposed changes to the Rural Crescent were discussed at a community conversation in August 2018.
Community members shared suggestions about the Rural Area at public meetings in June 2019 and July 2019.
A presentation and Planning Commission work session is set for September 24. The meeting will occur at the Hylton Performing Arts Center, 10960 George Mason Circle in Manassas, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
