Woodbridge drivers have a chance to speak up about a local intersection.
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is conducting a study that focuses on updates that could be made where Route 1 and Route 123 meet.
Input will be accepted through May 24, according to a release from VDOT.
Route 1 has been widened and received a shared-use path and sidewalk. However, officials anticipate that traffic will increase at its intersection with Route 123.
On average, Route 123 sees 19,000 vehicles at the intersection per day. The daily average for Route 1 at the intersection is 39,000 cars.
Linking Route 123 and Belmont Bay Drive, building an interchange, and providing updates related to pedestrians, cyclists and transportation are options being considered.
The public may take the survey and watch the presentation on the VDOT website.
