Northern Virginia homeowners who have a few renovation projects they would like to complete could be on Home and Garden Television (HGTV).
Rachel Macy, Collins Avenue Entertainment’s head of casting and talent, is seeking several renovation projects in the Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. area.
The houses, if selected, would be on “Best House on the Block,” a new HGTV show that Collins Avenue Entertainment is producing.
“I am casting blank slate, boring, cookie cutter homes that are common to the metro D.C. area,” Macy said. “So I want those red brick ramblers, I want the Cape Cod, I want the split level foyer, I want the colonial.”
Lauren and David Liess, who run a Great Falls-based renovation and design company, will be stars on the show.
Macy became acquainted with the couple after discovering Lauren’s blog.
Lauren had started the blog when she and David were living with her parents, and it grew in popularity over time.
“She’s one of the best designers in that area and really has an amazing eye and aesthetic for interior design,” Macy said.
Now, two years later, Macy is seeking homes that need a facelift.
Those interested in being considered for “Best House on the Block” must email an address, exterior and interior photos of the house, a family photo, and a budget range to BHOTBcasting@gmail.com.
They should also send a wish last of what they would like to accomplish through the project.
The show will focus on houses that need three rooms to be renovated.
“Lauren and David have five kids, so they’re really into helping young and growing families get the most out of their house,” Macy said.
