Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will be able to explore science, technology, engineering and math-related (STEM) subjects in a couple of months.
Registration for MITRE Corporation’s seventh annual Scout Engineering Day (SED) is opening at 7 p.m. on March 1, according to a release.
Space is limited.
The SED, which will take place at the MITRE McLean Campus on April 14, will offer several full-day and half-day workshops for Cadet, Senior, and Ambassador-level Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venture Scouts, Varsity Scouts, and Sea Scouts.
Game design, aviation, medicine and space exploration are among the classes attendees can take.
Volunteers can register their scouts in advance.
Those interested in volunteering can sign up online. They can also email Meagan Eldridge at mclewis@mitre.org or Norm Worrell at nworrell@mitre.org.
Between 300 and 400 Scouts and between 70 and 100 Scouters, Merit Badge Counselors and volunteers have participated in the event since it was formed in 2012.
