Additional opportunities to get the REAL ID are becoming available.
Earlier this month, members of the public were able to apply for the identification card at the Dumfries Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Select.
Citizens may use the REAL ID to board planes and access federal facilities.
Sixty-three REAL ID’s as well as 18 Driver’s License and ID cards were processed, according to an from Town Manager Keith Rogers Jr. to Mayor Derrick Wood, Vice Mayor Monaé Nickerson, and Town Council members.
DMV Connect was expected to return to the Dumfries DMV Select and offer REAL ID services in February, April and June.
Due to the recent event’s success, it will be brought back once a month, starting in February.
Virginia residents will be able to apply for their REAL ID at the Dumfries DMV Select on the following dates:
- February 10, 2020
- March 23, 2020
- April 20, 2020
- May 14, 2020
- June 15, 2020
- July 20, 2020
- August 17, 2020
- September 21, 2020
- October 15, 2020
- November 23, 2020
- December 14, 2020
REAL ID applicants must provide various documents, including proof of identity and legal presence. Proof of residency, social security number, and proof of any name changes should also be provided.
