County residents and businesses have some more time to pay the real estate taxes.
The Board of County Supervisors (BOCS) extended the deadline for the second part of 2020, which was originally set for December 5, according to a release from Prince William County. The new due date is February 3.
If the real estate taxes aren’t paid by February 3, residents and businesses must pay 10 percent interest. Each year, 10 percent interest will build up on any amount that isn’t paid.
Those who have paid their taxes cannot receive a refund.
The due date may still be listed as December 5 on the payment portal. County staff are working on changing it.
More details about the deadline and payment options are on the county’s website.
