Quantico Marine Corps Base is celebrating its centennial this year.
The base was launched back in 1917.
According to Marine Corps Public Affairs Director Major Andrew Bormann, there will be celebratory events throughout the year.
There is a formal ceremony scheduled to take place around May 10 and will be open to the public.
