Local law enforcement and citizens are moving up in the ranks.
Thirteen members of the Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) who have received promotions were honored at a ceremony.
Police officers advanced to Sergeant, First Sergeant and Lieutenant, according to a release from PWCPD.
Police Safety Services Technician, Animal Control Field Supervisor, Management Information Systems Coordinator I and Administrative Support Assistant II were the positions that community members were promoted to.
They were honored by PWCPD Chief Barry Barnard. Here are the individuals who were recognized:
