Promotion ceremony hosted by police department

Several police officers and citizens have received promotions.

Twenty individuals were recognized by Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) Chief Barry Barnard in Woodbridge on Friday.

The department hosted a promotion ceremony at Central District Police Station, according to a release.

Those from the police department were named to various ranks — captain, lieutenant, first sergeant and sergeant, administrative analyst II, management & fiscal analyst III, accounting services coordinator I, and crime analysis technician.

Members of the Office of Public Safety Communications received the title of telecommunicator II.
