Voters may choose to vote absentee if they are elderly, disabled or ill, or if they are primarily and personally responsible for the care of an ill or disabled family member who is confined at home. There are two ways to vote absentee, by mail or in person.
To vote absentee by mail, visit the Virginia Department of Elections website to have a ballot mailed. Requests for mailed absentee ballots must be made before 5 p.m. on Nov. 1. All ballots must be returned to the Office of Elections at 9250 Lee Avenue, Suite 1, Manassas, Va. 20110, by Election Day on Nov. 8, in order to be counted.
