Prince William residents gathered at libraries across the county yesterday to take in the solar eclipse.
We stopped by Chinn Park Regional Library in Lake Ridge to speak with staff from the Prince William County Public Library System (PWPL) to discuss the festivities the libraries in the county planned for the day.
“We’ve had people asking about glasses probably for the last month and a half. This morning at Potomac Library people lined up at six o’clock in the morning just to get the free glasses,” said PWPL Programming and Outreach Coordinator Tracy McPeck.
While parts of the eclipse could be seen from Chinn library, much of it was covered by clouds and an eventual thunderstorm.
According to McPeck, PWPL handed out over 800 pairs of eclipse glasses.
