The Prince William County Police Department has named their new Chief of Police – Barry Barnard.
The Chief of Police seat became vacant following the retirement announcement of Chief Stephan Hudson last year.
According to a release, Barnard is no stranger to the department, as he’s served as an officer since 1976.
Barnard, who lives in Prince William County with his wife, has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology from Florida State University, and a Master’s in Public Administration from George Mason University, according to a release.
“The Prince William Police Department is a dynamic group of men and women who selflessly serve this community. It is truly an honor to be named the new Chief of Police, and I am humbled to have the opportunity to serve alongside my fellow officers and county employees in this new capacity as we continue to make Prince William County a safe place to live, work and enjoy,” stated Barnard in a release.
