Two Prince William County residents are bringing home some extra dough.
Yibeltal Belachew won $7 million from the Virginia Lottery, according to a release from the lottery.
The Woodbridge resident had purchased the 100X The Money ticket at a Safeway, 10350 Willard Way in Fairfax.
“It took me a while to make sure I wasn’t dreaming,” Belachew told the Virginia Lottery. “You don’t believe that kind of stuff right away!”
Belachew picked $4.2 million cash – before taxes – rather than $7 million through annual payments over the course of 30 years.
Players of 100X The Money have a 1 in 2.77 chance of winning a prize, which can be anywhere from $30 to $7 million. They have a 1 in 2,611,200 possibility of getting the top prize.
A Catharpin resident got lucky when she was picking up groceries at Harris-Teeter, 42780 Creek View Plaza in Ashburn, according to another Virginia Lottery release.
Lisa Miclot grabbed a Print ‘n Play Rolling Jackpot ticket and won $327,739. She doesn’t have plans for her prize.
The jackpot begins at $50,000. There is a 1 in 240,000 chance of winning the top prize.
