Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) broke ground this morning on the upcoming Non-Traditional School at Independent Hill.
According to a release, the construction of the new three-story facility will allow three non-traditional learning programs – PACE East, New Directions, and New Dominion Alternative Centers – to merge and provide comprehensive services for students. Robert Eichorn has been named the principal of the new facility, according to a release.
Currently, many of these programs are being run out of school trailers.
In the Non-Traditional School, PWCS will be hosting adult education, summer school for K-12, general education development, and virtual high school programs, according to a release.
Construction in the project is set to be complete by late 2017, stated a release.
