Here’s a lineup of upcoming events happening at the three Prince William-area Boys & Girls Clubs.
#BuildingUpTheBully – On October 18 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. the Hylton Boys & Girls Club at 5070 Dale Boulevard will be hosting their “#BuildingUpTheBully” event. BULLY, which stands for “Building Up Lives of Loveless Lost Youth” is a program used to combat bullying use strategies with youth.
Intro to Dance Class – The School of Classical and Creative Dance will be running an introduction to dance class at the Hylton Boys & Girls Club through November 28. The cost is $70 per child, and there is no class on October 31. Grades K-12 are from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. and Grades 3-5 are 6:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. “In the Intro to Dance Class, students will be introduced to the building block of dance technique, which is Ballet. Traditional Ballet Barre Exercises and Center Work will be taught and at the end of class, different genres of dance will be explored. Through this method, the students will discover how good technique lends to further exploration and expression. Previous dance experience is not necessary, but a love of movement and exploring new things that will help the student get the most out of this experience. Dancers will be learning a variation from the Nutcracker Ballet to be performed at the Club at the end of November.”
#WeOwnFridays – The club will be hosting a lip sync battle on October 20 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. All are welcome. “Lip Sync Battle is about personal empowerment, cultural participation, cherished moments, community, and creating a safe space for human connection.”

Middle School Night Pizza Party – The Martin K. Alloy Club at 9501 Dean Park Lane in Manassas is hosting a pizza party for 7th and 8th graders on October 10 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. During the pizza party, participants can learn about the Jr. ACCE and other Boys & Girls Club programs and trips. They will also be able to sign up for a discounted membership of $25 by October 13.
Project Recycle Runway – Savers and the City of Manassas are partnering with the Boys & Girls Club to celebrate “American Recycles” on November 15. The participants will be creating new fashion by reusing clothing and accessories.
Basketball & Volleyball Fundamentals Camp – The Boys & Girls Club is offering a fundamentals course for volleyball and basketball. Training days for basketball on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and volleyball on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The program is for children ages five to 18. The training will take place during the week from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. The cost is $75 for current members and $125 for new members.
