Prince William students will be headed to class before Labor Day for the 2018-2019 school year.
The Prince William County School Board approved the pre-Labor Day opening unanimously this week during their scheduled meeting.
According to a release, the first day of the year will be August 27 and the last day will be June 11, 2019.
A post-Labor Day opening on September 4 was briefly considered, but did not appear to garner much support.
“Teachers will report on August 20, 2018. Schools will be closed for the winter break from December 21 through December 31,” stated a release.
The school board has chosen the pre-Labor Day start for the past two years.
