There’s a new post office location in Woodbridge.
Located at Todos Supermarket at 13905 Jefferson Davis Highway, the new postal office will provide more access to postal services on the eastern end of Woodbridge.
Carlos Castro, the owner of Todos, as well as members from the Postal Service were on site for the ribbon cutting and grand opening of the office.
Castro spoke about the origins of Todos – back in 1988 when his friend told him that Woodbridge needed an international grocery store – and how Todos has become an important part of the community.
“Not knowing the first thing about grocery stores, we jumped into it, and it was a very rough journey…the thing that brought us here was the [desire] to serve the community with a Latino grocery store,” said Castro.
According to Castro, opening the new post office was a lot of work, but that it was worth it.
“We got the idea for this post office, and it was a love-hate affair, you know, it took over three years…with the great support that the Post Office has given us…we made it. We were dealing with a very old building that required a ton of money and a lot of effort,” said Castro.
Another benefit Castro sees from opening the post office in Todos is providing more employment opportunities for the community.
“I think this is going to be great for our community. I think this is going to provide more employment opportunities,” said Castro.
