The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) had a great time on their annual Santa Ride.
Each year, the department partners with Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) to visit different elementary schools in Prince William, and spread holiday cheer. Santa even comes along for the ride!
“The children will usually line up in front of the school as Santa and his elves (other officers) ride past on police motorcycles. Santa and the officers then walk down the line of kids briefly before moving on to the next location. We also make time to visit the Pediatric Unit at Prince William Hospital,” stated PWCPD Sgt. Jonathan Perok in an email.
Perok stated that the children really enjoy the experience, and it’s an important way the department engages the community.
“Any time we can visit and engage our youth in a positive setting is instrumental. We look forward to this every year and hope it continues well into the future,” stated Perok.
